Renee Cosmetics Kohlistic Kajal Pen in Royal Cobalt Review

Can you believe it’s December already? For the last 2 years, I had hardly used my makeup items but I went to my hometown at the time of Diwali I used my cosmetics to my heart’s content (of course with a mask on). I have been using Renee Cosmetics Kohlistic Kajal Pen for the last 2-3 months and here is my review on it.

Renee Cosmetics is a new brand for me and after browsing I got to know that it is an Indian brand that sells makeup products that are cruelty free and FDA approved. 

Ingredients

Renee Cosmetics Kohlistic Kajal Pen comes in a black cardboard box packaging with all the information printed on it. 

The formula is very soft and breakable

The kajal is a retractable pencil that is indeed very easy to use! I prefer retractable kajals over bullet ones. It comes in many shades and I got Royal Cobalt which is a royal blue color with a metallic sheen to it. 

I wasn't able to write properly due to the soft tip!

The formula of the Kajal is soft and creamy and glides like a dream on eyes but the finish is very poor. It gets chalky kind of on my eyes and smudges. Instead of using it as a Kajal, I prefer using it as a eye liner and then smudging it lightly. The Kajal is also very soft and got broken in a single use which kind of disappointed me. The pigmentation is good and gives true color in 2 swipes. The staying power is medium and stays for few hours.

PROS:

• Comes in many shades.
• Pigmentation is good.
• The color is very unique and looks absolutely pretty on eyes.
• Has metallic sheen.
• Price.
• Indian brand.

CONS:

• No shade name is given on the Kajal. There is wavy pattern printed on the pencil that fades off with the usage.
• The pencil is very soft and breaks easily.
• Smudges easily.

Overall Thoughts:

Overall I am quite disappointed with Renee Cosmetics Kohlistic Kajal Pen. It doesn’t have smooth finish and gives a powdery look. It is very soft and breaks easily. It smudges easily and fades away within few hours. Apart from the color, I am not happy with this range and would recommend you to skip it.
