Revlon Photoready Compact Powder Review

Revlon Photoready Compact Powder
Compact powder is a must have for oily skinned people. I particularly use it on T-zone as I love dewy looks. I had used few products from Revlon Photoready range and was pretty impressed with their results. I had reviewed Revlon BB Cream, Revlon Photoready Kajal, Revlon Photoready Perfecting Primer, and Revlon Photoready Airbrush Mousse Makeup Foundation on my blog. I had given Revlon Photoready Airbrush Mousse Foundation to my mom as the shimmers tend to settle in my acne scars and it does not look good. Today I am going to review Revlon Photoready Compact Powder which is priced at 1100 INR and you can buy online HERE.

The compact powder comes in a plain black plastic packaging with a clear window over the actual compact. The whole case comes sealed in a plastic wrapper to ensure you it has not been used. The shade name and number are written on the top left corner of the case. Inside the case, you will find a small mirror and brush applicator. The mirror is very small but is great for touch ups while traveling. The brush applicator is pretty useless and I prefer using my Wildrose Magnolia Kabuki Brush (Reviewed HERE). It is definitely one of the best kabuki brushes I own!

The powder comes in 3 shades- light, medium and deep. I chose medium for my fair skin tone. Though it looks quite dark in the pan but comes out really natural on my skin. I also prefer using it when my foundation shade is a bit lighter than my skin tone. It prevents my face from ghostly look. The texture of the powder is very smooth and silky. It has slightly creamy texture as it does not form cloudy powdery texture in my pan whilst sweeping the brush.  It goes on really smooth. It blends onto my skin effortlessly and makes my face look smooth and flawless. It gives a beautiful luminous satin-y finish to my skin. It sets my foundation well and covers slight redness and blemishes well. If you have major blemishes then you will need to use a concealer.

I have oily skin and it stays on my skin for a good 3-4 hours. After that my T-zone gets pretty oily and I need to reapply it. I have not faced any adverse effects whilst using it!

PROS:
Simple yet sturdy packaging.
Applies smoothly on skin with satin-y finish.
Feels light on skin. Can be used as retouch powder.
Evens out the skin tone and minimizes pores.
No fragrance or oil.
No skin irritations.
Gives light to medium coverage.
Gives a luminous effect to the skin.
Does not give white cast even with SPF14.
Suits all skin types.

CONS:
The brush and mirror are pretty useless.
If you have oily skin, you would need retouching!

Overall Thoughts:
Revlon Photoready Compact Powder is a great powder that applies smoothly and feels light on skin. It gives a beautiful satin-y finish and looks great even in flash photographs. Though I need retouching but I loved how natural and healthy my skin looks with this powder. I would definitely recommend it to everyone!

Rating: 4.8/5

My Tips:
If you have dry skin, make sure to apply moisturizer to avoid blotchy patches.
Retouch the powder using kabuki brush for more natural finish!

Have you tried Revlon photoready range? Which product in this range did you like?

Stay pretty!
