Figaro Olive Oil Review

I had been using concoction of almond oil and coconut oil for years. I was being introduced to olive oil through various beauty blogs. I was not really aware of the effectiveness of this oil. Whenever I suffer from dandruff or any kind of hair problem, I switch to this oil and yes I am really satisfied with the results. Today I am going to discuss my experience with Figaro Olive Oil.

Figaro Olive Oil Review
MBT says-
Figaro olive oil comes in a green rectangular shaped can with a green screw cap lid. I really don’t like the screw cap as it is difficult to pour the oil onto the hands due to its wide mouth. It creates a mess around the mouth of the bottle making it totally travel unfriendly. The cap of the bottle comes sealed to make sure that it has not been opened or used. Once you open the cap, make sure to keep the bottle straight to avoid creating a mess onto your dressing. The smell of the oil is very mild and pleasant and won’t bother sensitive noses.

The consistency of the oil is slightly thick as compared to almond and coconut oil. The oil itself is pale green in color but looks light yellow when poured on hands. I always warm the oil, apply it onto my scalp and hair, massage it gently (I have oily scalp with dry ends!) and leave it overnight to get utmost results out of it. The oil is a bit difficult to wash off and I need two washes to avoid leaving my scalp greasy and oily. My hair feels very soft, silky and shiny after wash. It helps in reducing dandruff to a great extent and stimulates hair growth. If you have extremely oily hair, you can mix it with coconut oil in the ratio of 1:1.

Olive oil is a versatile product and can used in a variety of ways. I use it as an eye makeup remover. Just dab a small amount of olive oil on a cotton ball, pat it on the lids, wait for few seconds and swipe it across the lids. It removes all waterproof mascara and liners well. Don’t forget to swipe the excess oil with a clean and dry cotton wool. During winters when my skin becomes dry, I mix two to three drops of olive oil with body lotion to get extra nourishment. Though olive oil is also used for oil cleansing but I won’t recommend using this brand as it contains both refined and extra virgin olive oil. One must use only extra virgin oil on face to prevent clogging of pores.

Figaro Olive Oil Review
PROS:
Mild and pleasant smell.
Good consistency.
Makes my hair soft, smooth and shiny.
Helps in reducing dandruff.
Can be used as an eye makeup remover.
Can be mixed with body lotion.

CONS:
I really don’t like the tin packaging.
Pricey.

Overall Thoughts:
Figaro olive oil is pale green in color with right consistency. It has mild and pleasant smell and won’t bother sensitive noses. It makes my hair soft, smooth, silky and shiny. It helps in reducing dandruff to a great extent. It can also be used to remove waterproof eye makeup. If you are suffering from dry skin then mix it with body lotion and all you have is soft and supple skin. Since it is not purely extra virgin olive oil it is not recommended to be used on face. This is one of the best olive oil I have ever used. I shall definitely recommend it to everyone.

  13. Hey Megha, a very well written review.
I have been purchasing Figaro for almost 8-9 years now. From all the Olive oil sold in India, this one is the best.
And I too hate the rectangular tin. It becomes a bit messy over the time. I usually transfer it in another bottle.

Nice and informative post : )

P.S. Bought Patanjali's Aloe Vera gel. Its one AWESOME product. Totally hooked to it. Even I have an oily skin and very few products stay on 're-purchasing list'. Thanx a ton for introducing me to this product.

  18. Nice review Megha. I have been using this one for a few years on body mainly in the winters. it is very nourishing for the skin. On hair, yes it is a little difficult to take off and I completely agree on the packing part, does catch dust around the mouth even on storing properly.

This oil is available in variant quantities so u got the original product.
I dont it causes cold as my bhabhi is using it on my nephew since 3 years. But becos u r skeptical try to avoid using it for few days n see if ur child feels good. Every product acts differently on each person.
