Bourjois Paris Effet Smoky Eye Pencil in Sparkling Navy Review, Swatches & EOTD

Recently I went to attend my friend’s marriage and the makeup artist did sparkly eye look on her. Although it was looking very pretty but all the attention went on the sparkly pink on her eyes. I am not so fond of sparkly things but this Bourjois Paris Effet Smoky Eye Pencil in Sparkling Navy really impressed me. Today I am going to discuss my experience with Bourjois Paris Effet Smoky Eye Pencil in Sparkling Navy.

Bourjois Paris says-
A smoky look available in 5 deep and intense shades achievable in 2 simple steps:
1) Outline the eye with the pencil
2) Smudge with the brush
Its soft, easy-to-blend tip glides along the lash line for an intense outline in one stroke.
Its ultra soft brush made of natural bristles perfectly smudges the formula.
The result: a subtle but incredibly sexy smoky look in just 2 steps!
And it's good for my eyes:
- High tolerance formula
- Tested on sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers
- Enriched with natural waxes and vitamins E & C*.
*Vitamin derivatives.

MBT says-
Bourjois Paris Effet Smoky Eye Pencil is a sparkly purple lacquered wooden pencil with a same colored pull off plastic lid. It is two ended with a pencil on one end and a brush on the other. Both the ends are securely covered with tight fitted caps. The color of the pencil is same as that of the shade and allows easy identification of the shade in case you hoard many from this range. The lid of the pencil is quite tight and can be securely carried around in a makeup bag. The liner was tapered to a neatly sharpened tip when brand new. It enables a comfortable and easy hold on pencil during application. The shade name and number are written at the end of the pencil.
The texture of the liner is smooth and creamy due to presence of natural waxes and Vitamin E and C (though not as creamy as NYX long pencil and Maybelline Vivid Eye Liner!). It glides easily across my eye lids with minimal effort to give a smooth, precise line. It creates a flawless and subtle line of color in just 2 swipes. To get a more intense and dramatic effect, I need to swipe it 3-4 times. You can easily create thin or thick lines with this liner. It feels quite light on my skin. The brush on the other end of the pencil is really soft and tapers into a point that allows you to create a soft smoky look. It does not hurt or feel scratchy on the sensitive eye area. It prevents you from over smudging the liner. Although the bristles feel soft, they are not tightly packed and do not allow me to smudge the liner on lower lashes effectively. Due to the creamy texture, it gives you lots of time to smudge before finally setting. It stays put on my slightly oily lids for a good 5-6 hours without smudging or fading (I do not touch my eyes!). Though the company has not claimed it to be a water proof liner but it doesn't budge. I do need to use olive oil or an eye makeup remover to wipe it off. The liner doesn't cause any adverse effects to my eyes. It sharpens very well with no flaking of the pencil fibers.
Sparkling Navy is a gorgeous navy blue color with very fine purple shimmers. The shimmers are very fine and do not tend to fall out. It looks really pretty on my eyes and does not look OTT. I love pairing it with neutral shades to make it stand out. It gives a very nice defined look. Although I am not a huge fan of smoky eyes but I love creating one with this pencil. It helps in achieving a great smoked effect by just blending with a brush. It does lose the intensity of the color but looks quite dramatic on eyes. It would look flattering on all skin tones and eye colors.

Bourjois Paris Effet Smoky Eye Pencil in Sparkling Navy is a great and easy way to achieve sparkly (though moderate) smoky effect. It has soft and smooth texture and glides easily across the lids.
