Treecell Day Collagen Shampoo Review – Korean Shampoo for Soft & Frizz-Free Hair

If you’ve been scrolling through Korean haircare recommendations lately, chances are you’ve come across the Treecell Day Collagen Shampoo. I first noticed it on Korean beauty pages where people kept describing it as a “salon-like repairing shampoo” that helps make hair softer, smoother, and healthier-looking without feeling too heavy.

Honestly, I ignored it initially because collagen shampoos tend to sound a little too marketing-heavy to me. Most of them promise glossy, silky hair after one wash, and reality usually ends up being very different.

But after seeing this shampoo repeatedly — especially in Korean haircare routines focused on dry and damaged hair — I finally decided to try it myself. On my husband's trip to Korea, I asked him to get one for me from Olive Young.

And after using the Treecell Day Collagen Shampoo consistently for several weeks, I can honestly say this is one of those shampoos that slowly grows on you over time. Not because it transforms your hair overnight, but because your hair gradually starts looking healthier, softer, and easier to manage without that coated silicone-heavy feeling some shampoos leave behind. That’s honestly what stood out to me the most.

Price- Rs 1090 for 360ml

I got a refill pack along with shampoo from Olive Young Korea and all this costed me around Rs 1000

First Impressions – Minimal But Premium

The first thing I noticed was the packaging. It has that clean Korean beauty aesthetic — minimal, sleek, super smooth and slightly salon-like without trying too hard. The bottle feels sturdy and looks much more premium than many expensive shampoos I’ve used.

The texture surprised me too. It’s thicker than watery shampoos but not overly creamy either. Somewhere in between. It has gel like texture! When I first applied it, it lathered much better than I expected from a collagen-focused shampoo.

Usually nourishing shampoos either:

  • barely foam
  • or
  • make hair feel coated afterward.

But this one actually cleans the scalp properly while still feeling gentle.

The fragrance is another thing I immediately noticed. It has that soft clean salon scent that lingers lightly in the hair without becoming overpowering. Personally, I really enjoyed it because my hair smelled fresh even the next day. The fragrance is though very light and hardly noticeable.

Why I Wanted to Try This Shampoo

My hair had honestly been feeling quite dull recently. Not severely damaged, but definitely rougher at the ends, slightly frizzy, lacking softness and harder to manage during humid weather

I also heat style occasionally, and over time my hair started losing that smooth healthy appearance it usually has after a haircut. It's been 2 years since I became a mom and my hair has all gone for a troll. I wasn’t necessarily looking for a “hair fall solution” shampoo. I wanted something that made my hair feel healthier overall without making my scalp greasy too quickly.

That’s what made the Treecell Day Collagen Shampoo interesting to me. The entire focus seemed more about improving hair texture and softness rather than making unrealistic promises.

Texture & Washing Experience

One thing I appreciated immediately was how balanced this shampoo feels during washing. Some nourishing shampoos feel too rich and end up weighing hair down, especially if you have fine or slightly oily roots. This one doesn’t.

It spreads easily through the scalp and hair without needing too much product. Even a small amount creates a decent lather, which honestly makes the shampoo feel more satisfying to use.

While rinsing, my hair already felt softer compared to certain shampoos that leave hair tangled halfway through washing. That was probably my first clue that this shampoo might actually suit my hair.

What Makes the Treecell Day Collagen Shampoo Different?

I think the biggest difference is that it focuses more on hair condition and softness rather than just cleansing.

A lot of shampoos make the scalp feel clean but leave the lengths dry afterward. This one feels more balanced. The collagen-focused formula seems designed to help hair feel smoother and more flexible instead of rough or stripped. And while collagen in haircare doesn’t magically rebuild damaged hair completely, products like this can definitely help improve the overall feel and appearance of the hair temporarily when used consistently. That’s exactly what I noticed over time.

My Hair After the First Few Washes

The first wash didn’t completely shock me or transform my hair instantly. And honestly, I prefer products that way because overly dramatic first impressions usually come from heavy silicones coating the hair.

Instead, my hair simply felt:

  • cleaner
  • softer
  • easier to detangle

After around 3–4 washes, I started noticing more visible changes. The ends of my hair looked less rough, and my hair overall started looking smoother without requiring extra styling. I also noticed that my hair felt softer even the next morning, which doesn’t happen often with many shampoos. Usually softness disappears after a few hours. With this one, the softness actually stayed.

Frizz Control – Better Than I Expected

One thing I genuinely didn’t expect was how much this shampoo helped with frizz. Not extreme frizz control like a keratin treatment obviously, but enough to make my hair look neater and healthier. Humid weather usually makes my hair puffier around the ends, especially after air drying. But after using the Treecell Day Collagen Shampoo for a couple of weeks, I noticed my hair looked smoother even without much styling. That subtle improvement honestly made the biggest difference in how my hair looked overall.

Did It Weigh My Hair Down?

This was my biggest concern before trying it because nourishing shampoos sometimes make hair feel flat after one day. Surprisingly, this shampoo didn’t make my roots greasy faster.

My scalp still felt fresh for a decent amount of time, which I appreciated because I dislike shampoos that make hair feel heavy immediately. My scalp and hair turns greasy after 2 days that happens with all other shampoos I have tried.

I think this shampoo works particularly well for people whose hair feels:

  • dry at the ends
  • slightly damaged
  • rough from styling
  • lacking shine

The Shine & Softness Factor

After regular use, my hair definitely started looking shinier. Not in an artificial reflective way, but more like healthier hair overall. That dullness I had been noticing slowly reduced, especially near the lengths.

The softness also became more consistent. Even when I skipped leave-in products occasionally, my hair still felt reasonably manageable. And honestly, that’s probably why I kept reaching for this shampoo repeatedly. It made my hair feel healthier without requiring a complicated routine. It is SLS FREE, paraben free and silicone free.

What I Didn’t Love

As much as I enjoyed using it, I do think there are a few things worth mentioning honestly. First, if your scalp gets oily extremely quickly, you may still need a deeper cleansing shampoo occasionally. This feels more nourishing than clarifying.

Secondly, while it improves softness and manageability beautifully, it’s not a miracle repair treatment for severely damaged hair. If your hair is heavily bleached or extremely damaged, you’ll still need masks and treatments alongside it. I have oily scalp with dry ends and I need to follow it up with a conditioner to get untangled hair. And lastly, the price is definitely higher than regular drugstore shampoos. I got it at around Rs 1000 for both full sized shampoo and a refill.

But honestly, the overall experience does feel more premium compared to basic shampoos.

Who I Think Will Love This Shampoo

I genuinely think this shampoo works best for people who have:

  • dry or rough hair lengths
  • mild heat damage
  • frizz
  • dull-looking hair
  • chemically treated hair
  • hair that tangles easily

It’s especially good if you enjoy Korean haircare products that focus on softness and healthy-looking hair rather than aggressive cleansing.

Pros Cons
✔️ Makes hair feel softer and smoother after regular use ❌ Slightly expensive compared to regular shampoos
✔️ Helps reduce frizz and rough texture ❌ Very oily scalps may still need a clarifying shampoo occasionally
✔️ Gives healthy-looking shine without feeling greasy ❌ Not a miracle repair solution for severely damaged hair
✔️ Lightweight formula that doesn’t weigh hair down ❌ Results are gradual, not instant
✔️ Pleasant salon-like fragrance that lasts ❌ Availability can be limited in India sometimes

Would I Repurchase It?

Honestly, yes. Especially during phases when my hair starts feeling rough or overstyled. This feels like the kind of shampoo that quietly improves your hair condition over time instead of giving temporary dramatic results. And personally, I’ve started appreciating those types of products much more. Because healthy-looking hair usually comes from consistency rather than instant fixes.

The Treecell Day Collagen Shampoo made my hair feel softer, smoother, and easier to manage without feeling overly heavy or coated. And for me, that balance is what made it worth using.

Final Verdict – Is Treecell Day Collagen Shampoo Worth It?

After using it consistently, I genuinely understand why this shampoo became popular in Korean haircare routines. It gives that soft, healthy, salon-like finish without making the hair feel artificially coated or greasy.

I especially loved:

  • the softness it gave
  • the smoother texture
  • reduced frizz
  • the clean salon-like fragrance
  • how healthy my hair started looking over time

It’s not an overnight miracle product. But if your hair feels dull, rough, or slightly damaged and you want something that improves manageability and softness gradually, this shampoo is honestly worth trying. And personally, it became one of those shampoos I kept reaching for because my hair simply looked better whenever I used it.
