Himalaya Herbals Damage Repair Protein Shampoo Review

Himalaya Herbals Damage Repair Protein Shampoo
I had tried many Himalaya Herbals skincare products but I usually stay away from their hair care products as most of their protein shampoos do not cleanse my scalp and hair properly. I had tried Himalaya Herbals Anti Hair Fall Shampoo (reviewed HERE) but was not actually impressed by it as it makes my ends really dry. I have really weird kind of hair and I am still in search of my HG shampoo :(. Recently I tried Himalaya Herbals Damage Repair Protein Shampoo that claims to repair hair and protect from damage. It is priced at Rs 70 for 100ml and you can buy online HERE.

Himalaya Herbals Damage Repair Protein Shampoo comes in a sturdy, opaque white plastic bottle with a dark green flip top lid. All the information is printed at the back of the bottle. The packaging is fairly simple but can be easily carried around while traveling with no fear of leakage or spillage.

The shampoo is light brown in color with mild and pleasant scent. The texture of the shampoo is soft and smooth with good consistency. It is neither very thick nor very thin. The scent is lively and pleasant and won’t bother sensitive noses. I always make sure to dilute my shampoo to reduce the damage the chemicals may cause to the hair. The shampoo is easily applied and gets spread to my medium length hair. Whenever I oil my hair, I require more shampoo than required though it happens with all the shampoos in my case. It creates good lather and the scent does not tend to intensify. It is easily rinsed away. After using the shampoo, my hair feels soft, thoroughly cleansed (I apply oil before washing my hair!) and manageable with a healthy shine. I have soft, silky hair with dry and frizzy ends. My ends feel a bit dry and I do feel the need to use conditioner with this shampoo (though I need it with every shampoo I use). It controls the frizz and does not leave greasy residue behind or any build up. The scent does not linger and fades away as soon as the shampoo is rinsed off.

I have no damaged hair and do not use heat or chemicals on my hair so I cannot share my experience on if it repairs damage. The shampoo as per claims does not help in controlling split ends as I could see few split ends that can be repaired only through trimming. I have not experienced any adverse effects whilst using it. The shampoo contains bleach almonds and chickpea that conditions and strengthens hair.

PROS:
•    Good consistency.
•    Mild and pleasant scent.
•    It is herbal.
•    Travel friendly and sturdy packaging.
•    Hair feels soft, clean and manageable.
•    Imparts a healthy shine to hair.
•    Does not lead to dandruff or scalp itching.
•    Reasonably priced.
•    Suits all hair types.

CONS:
•    My hair ends become dry if I do not use conditioner so a good conditioner is a must when you see this shampoo.
•    Does not control split ends.

Overall Thoughts:
Himalaya Herbals Damage Repair Protein Shampoo is a good regular use shampoo. It is herbal and does not make my hair dry and brittle. Like with every shampoo, I do feel the need to follow it up with a conditioner. I would definitely recommend it to you if you are looking to change your shampoo or want to try herbal shampoo.

Rating: 4.5/5

My Tips:
•    Make sure you dilute your shampoo to reduce the damage chemicals may cause to hair.
•    Follow it up with a conditioner to moisturize dry ends.
•    I keep changing my shampoos every 2-3 months to avoid hair fall or dandruff.

Do you like herbal shampoos? What is your favorite?

Stay pretty!
